The Noctuidae is a large family of Lepidoptera, with some 12,000 species described and many more, particularly from the Neotropical region to be discovered and described. At the moment, there are about 200 species in at least 16 subfamilies known in Hong Kong.

Only taxa that occur in Hong Kong are included. The list order is based upon Zahiri et al. (2013b) as well as Holloway (2011) and Lafontaine & Schmidt (2013) for subfamilies not dealt with by Zahiri et al. (2013b).
